My name is Megan Hensley. I’m 17 years old, and the only daughter in my family with four younger brothers. I was born in Oxford, Mississippi, but Southern Missouri is where I was raised until I was 16. I’m a lover of writing, reading, cooking, cleaning, and anything having to do with music! I LOVE to sing and play guitar as well as piano. I’ve tinkered around on the mandolin and would love to pick up the banjo one of these days as well!
Living with so many brothers, most people define me as a good mix of not to girly, but not an all-out tomboy either. I love skirts, makeup, and girly conversation; but I also love to hunt, butcher chickens, watch action movies, and arm wrestle. haha!
I also have a heart for missions work…
My family and I moved to Zambia, Africa as missionaries in March 2015; and I thought blogging about what God is doing in my life would be a great way to spread the love of Christ to others! So the missions aspect of my life is my focal point on this blog.
Hugging on little kids, bonding with kids, peers, and elders, frequent power outages, the different foods…all of it! I adore it!!! I didn’t think I would at first, but God can change hearts and He certainly has changed mine. The mission field is where I belong; and where we all as Christians belong!! Wherever God has me now and in my future is my mission field!
We are currently working with an organization called Wiphan Care Ministries which feeds and provides Christian based education for orphans and widows here in Ndola, Zambia.
If you would like to read more about how God led us here to Zambia, or more stories about our time here and our family, you are welcome to visit our website: http://www.hensleysforchrist.com/ You can also visit http://www.wiphan.org/ to learn more about the ministry we work with. I hope that God uses my story and my family’s story to encourage and uplift the people all around the world!
